<V. SPACE/>mua life in this universe February 03 second year and counting !!Many wishes to Richa. Great job making it so far with me. This is our second marriage anniversary and last year just flew. This is how we celebrated last year.
This year we are keeping it down and staying at home, trying to stop the world spinning around us. Next year we are planning to paint the town red.
enjoy !!
January 01 Happy New year !!!I want to wish that the year 2007 brings out the best in people.I have alot to thank from year 2006 and I hope year 2007 continues to be the same.
Happy new year everyone.
October 28 tumor and life !!!August 28 seattle beach collection
found couple of nice beaches in seattle up north overlooking puget sound. I am planning to spend whatever left of summer exploring these. check it out. dont forget to zoom in and view it in bird's eye view. August 14 Sabash India !!!Happy Independence Day to India. Everyone celebrate. Conveniently I have a day off on 15th august after a long month of sprint at work.
August 12 Personalize that look !!By now you must have realized that msn spaces is gone and new WL spaces is here. To be frank i did not like the converted look and feel that i got by default. controls etc on the top. blogs down there. a huge block of friends taking my blog's entire page etc etc.
I moved few things around and voila. I totally see now the power of new look and feel and social networking aspects. I could invite my entire windows messenger list on my space. Also they found my gamercard in one click. seamless integration of messenger, xbox live and gadgets and favourites and list goes on.
I think this is becoming the WL experience. At first glance I reject any new WL service as it looks too overwhelming and cluttered. But i must say it grows on you. After you get used to the whole windows live way of things the power and feature sets simply get you. They are catchy and addictive. So take my advice and do try these services before rejecting them outright. You would love them as I found out.
make sure you get your space right and not let the defaults upset you.
Cheers !!
June 06 treat for soccer fans !!!This is one hell of a way to track world cup schedule. check it out
also if you are looking for some live action there are cafes in seattle airing live games on big screens. I am trying to find a way to get all such places from local.live or local.google. But I cannot seem to figure out a query to dig in such information. let me know if you could.
It would be great if search engines could support such fresh queries from flyers and magazines about local business. May 22 What would you do right now if you learned that you were going to die in ten minutes?I thought about it and I dont have an answer. I cannot think of a single most important thing like that. Here is what "Daniel Gilbert" has to say in his "Stumbling on Happiness" .
"What would you do right now if you learned that you were going to die in ten minutes? Would you race upstairs and light that Marlboro you've been hiding in your sock drawer since the Ford administration? Would you waltz into your boss's office and present him with a detailed description of his personal defects? Would you drive out to that steakhouse near the new mall and order a T-bone, medium rare, with an extra side of the really bad cholesterol? Hard to say, of course, but of all the things you might do in your final ten minutes, it's a pretty safe bet that few of them are things you actually did today..... "
Do you have an answer? May 19 Talking about Apple Store - Fifth AvenueI must say this is sweeeeeeeeeet.

Never wrestle with a pig, for if you do, you will both get dirty, but the pig will enjoy it. [requires NYT free registration]
" From the days of Sumerian clay tablets till now, humans have "published" at least 32 million books, 750 million articles and essays, 25 million songs, 500 million images, 500,000 movies, 3 million videos, TV shows and short films and 100 billion public Web pages. All this material is currently contained in all the libraries and archives of the world. When fully digitized, the whole lot could be compressed (at current technological rates) onto 50 petabyte hard disks. Today you need a building about the size of a small-town library to house 50 petabytes. With tomorrow's technology, it will all fit onto your iPod."
" In the heart of Silicon Valley, Stanford University (one of the five libraries collaborating with Google) is scanning its eight-million-book collection using a state-of-the art robot from the Swiss company 4DigitalBooks. This machine, the size of a small S.U.V., automatically turns the pages of each book as it scans it, at the rate of 1,000 pages per hour."
" Raj Reddy, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, decided to move a fair-size English-language library to where the cheap subsidized scanners were. In 2004, he borrowed 30,000 volumes from the storage rooms of the Carnegie Mellon library and the Carnegie Library and packed them off to China in a single shipping container to be scanned by an assembly line of workers paid by the Chinese. His project, which he calls the Million Book Project, is churning out 100,000 pages per day at 20 scanning stations in India and China. Reddy hopes to reach a million digitized books in two years." Scan This Book! - New York Times May 10 Talking about Land of Lime » Vikram AkulaVery Very Cool stuff.
Time has a new list of hundred influential people, who are shaping our world through their power, talent or moral example. Vikram Akula is on this list. Vikram is a fellow Univ. of Chicago alumnus and received a Ph.D. in political science in 2004. In 1997, he established SKS Microfinance to offer small loans to rural women in Andhra Pradesh, on the Grameen Bank model. Vikram’s real achievement lies in building an institution that has dispensed since 1998 $52 million to 221,000 women, to build small businesses and supplement family income. Land of Lime » Vikram Akula May 02 list of books and msn spaces.Whenever I log into msn space I notice that the list of books i want to read is outdated. I have added tons of new books in my amazon wish list and I have read some of the books I had mentioned here when I created this list. I am too lazy to manually maintain this list. I will try to figure out if I can somehow generate my amazon's wish list as a feed to my spaces. I thought I can probably do it as RSS feeds but I did not find feed for wish list on amazon. If you know it exists then please let me know.
Till then here are my wish list on amazon.
Have fun reading !!! April 14 Talking about Wired 10.06: The Man Who Cracked The Code to Everything ...
Long but an interesting account of Stephen Wolfram and The new kind of Science.
'Why am I really doing this? Is it really worth my while to spend 10 years of my life doing something to get other people to say positive things about it?' No, it's not. Absolutely not. And actually, from some very cynical point of view, my opinion of the world at large isn't high enough for me really to be interested in what they have to say."
